Enhance your Yoga Practice with Essential Oils

Over these last 6 months I’ve discovered some things  I’ve fallen in love with.   A bit of wine with dinner, embroidery, and Yoga.

I had taken a few Yoga classes right before the pandemic, but not yet had the opportunity to fall in love with it!   Over these last 6 months I’ve taken online classes with Adriene, Jessica and Erica.  I have to say my favorite instructor is Erica.  She has taught me the value of a great Yoga practice.  My back, glutes, and even my hand muscles are stronger and leaner.

I’ve also discovered how to enhance my Yoga Practice.   Essential oils have been a HUGE part of my life over the last 5 years, but until recently I had no idea  how much they could enhance my Yoga Practice.

Together let’s discover a few ways you and I can enhance our Yoga Practice.

Set your intention (focus). Place a drop of Frankincense over your heart center.  Inhale as you begin your practice.

Bring on the calm.  Diffuse Peace and Calming during your practice.

AMP up your breathing.  Diffuse or spray a blend of Peppermint and Eucalyptus Radiata essential oils.

Break through tough poses.  Place a mixture of Rosemary and Lavender on your forehead. Breathe deeply to energize yourself through those tough poses.

Sink into Stillness One of the best ways to use essential oils in Savasana, is by rubbing a drop of Lavender or Frankincense onto your forehead and massaging it toward your temples.

Heighten Meditation: Diffuse Clarity Essential oil blend.  (hands down this is one of my favorites for boosting my mental alertness)

Yoga enhancing diffuser blends:  Keep it simple by diffusing one of these blends throughout your practice.

Tree Pose: 3 Drops Hinoki, 3 Drops Patchouli and 2 Drops Royal Hawaiian Sandalwood essential oils.

🧘🏻‍♀️Say Ommm: 3 drops Lavender, Sacred Sandalwood and Eucalyptus Radiata essential oil.

🧘🏻‍♀️Yoga Retreat: 3 drops Patchouli, 2 drops Frankincense and Clary Sage, 1 drop Orange essential oil.

🧘🏻‍♀️Zen Garden: 2 drops of each Cedarwood, Pine, Tea Tree, Rosemary and Lemon essential oils.

🧘🏻‍♀️Time to Ommm: 3 drops each Lavender, Frankincense and Cypress essential oils.

Namaste. You’ve had an amazing practice.  Now it’s time to take care of your mat.  Make a mat mist. Combine 4 ounces water, 4 ounces witch hazel, and 3 drops Thieves essential oil in an  8 oz glass spray bottle; spritz onto your mat and wipe clean. Roll the mat up when it’s dry.

Loosen up: Over-exertion can often cause our muscles to tighten.   To loosen tight muscles mix 1 drop of Panaway essential oil blend with 4 drops of coconut essential oil.  OR  rub directly onto the muscles my favorite, CBD Muscle Rub (all the power of CBD and essential oils with NO THC)

I truly believe you will find Yoga AND Essential oils an amazing benefit to your wellness routine.    For those of you who have yet to try Yoga check out this simple chair Yoga.
