Four Tips to Stay Grounded in a Topsy-Turvey World

It doesn’t take much for our daily lives to spin out of control into chaos and disorder.

Does your typical day look something like this? Your child’s sick, your aged mom has fallen, your car won’t start, your coffee pot has gone kaput!

My desire; that you use at least one of these four tips to redirect you onto a more grounded path

1. Cultivate your relationship with Jesus

Jeremiah 17:7-8 says: “Blessed are those who trust in the Lord. . .  They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they go right on producing delicious fruit.”(NLT ver)

Strengthen your relationship with the Lord by reading His Word at least 10 minutes daily. As you read His Word, jot down 2-3 of His character traits. Think on those during your day.

2. Discover your Purpose

“It’s not about you.” Purpose Driven Life author,  Pastor Rick Warren reminds us.   “The purpose of your life is far greater than your own personal fulfillment, peace of mind or your happiness. If you want to know why you are on this planet, you must begin with God. You were born by his purpose and for His purpose.”

Today, pray the Lord will open your eyes to what His purpose for your life is. Be it raising your child to know the Lord, leading a Bible Study, serving at a local shelter or …

3. Tend to your personal relationships.

Ecclesiastes 4:9 “ Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. (NLT ver)

Nurture your healthy relationships with family and friends.   Listen to them with intent, play a board game instead of watching TV,  stop whatever you are doing and hug them, tuck a note of affirmation into their lunch.

4. Create healthy living practices.

Healthy living can Boost Your Energy Level, Combat Disease, Improve your Mood and more.

Take 1 step today towards a more healthier lifestyle. Skip that cookie, take a family walk after dinner, play frisbee with the dog, go to bed 30 minutes earlier.

Staying grounded isn’t effortless.  Start today in small ways to grow and nurture your grounded life. I look forward to hearing small changes you are making towards a Grounded Life.

Blessings in Him,

Deb
